Variable: Most people will not show symptoms in the first few months. If left untreated , the disease will keep on progressing until it kills you. It is rare but a few people have been found to be resistant to HIV's effects but this are rare exceptions and not the rule. Practice safe sex if you are concerned. Get tested if you are in doubt.
