Absolutely. CK is a: protein enzyme made by every muscle cell in body: high concentrations in water inside cells; usually low in water outside cells (from which labs measure CK). CK is not at all specific for heart muscle. CK in extracellular water has long been used as a clue to muscle damage & the 2 proteins within each CK as a clue to which muscles, Skeletal ~98% M+M chains, heart ~70% M+M & 25-30% M+B chains.
