Aldara is considered safe (risks outweighed by benefits for many patients), though not for people w/ autoimmune or immunesuppression. Common side effects incl: local redness/itching, ulcers & swelling. There are many less-common effects ( http://reference.medscape.com/drug/aldara-zyclara-imiquimod-343508#4 )
Avoid sex while cream is on skin. Avoid/minimize sunlight.
