Have a spot on my back that hasn't gone away (probably been there for over a year or so) and wondering if i should have it checked out.

Most likely: Any skin lesion that is concerning you warrants a physician evaluation. Use a PCP or dermatologist. Most important questions to answer include: is it enlarging, changing texture or border, changing colors, causing any symptoms, etc. A digital camera is a useful tool in monitoring skin lesions by having someone snap a photograph every 3 months or so to compare to previous pics and look for changes.

Great input by Dr. Holmes. Annual head to toe dermatological evaluation is recommended for adults. It would be prudent to have it assessed.
