Please don't think: that this is a firm diagnosis, but it sounds like you're describing psoriasis. Psoriasis, by itself, isn't harmful to your heath and it's NOT contagious, but it can be associated with other disorders, including psoriatic arthritis. Some people are self-conscious about the appearance of their skin. I encourage you to see a dermatologist about this. Dr. Anne.
