Neither for kidney: Amlodipine and Lercandipine are dihydropyridines. They both can cause or increase fluid retention(edema). Neither of these agents protects kidney function if there is proteinuria present, but ACE's or ARB's will slow progression of CKD and they don't cause edema. Diltiazem and Verapamil are non dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers that don't cause edema.
