Not normal: It is quite possible that there is a complication with your extraction sites. It is important to keep in touch with the doctor concerning these post operative symptoms. There are a number of complications to be concerned about including alveolar osteitis (dry socket), or an infection that is resistant to antibiotics you may be presently taking. See your dentist to have him check the sites.

Muscles Spasm Option: A muscle spasm can appear to be like a swelling along with jaw pain. If you cannot open your mouth the full amount , then you most likely have a muscle spasm and need to work to get rid of this spasm. Warm moist compresses on that side of the cheek along with slowly stretching your mouth open is useful.
