Likely not: don't worry. putting topical medication after you do something like that is a good idea to try and avoid the fungus from coming back.

Very possible: Best to see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. Psoriasis and other conditions may cause nail changes very similar to fungus. After all that filing you may never again have a normal nail. If it is a fungus, now is the time to initiate effective therapy. Terbinafine 250mg daily for 12 weeks.
