Sexually transmitted: Trichomonas is sexually transmitted; that's the only way to catch it. However, trich can remain dormant in women for several years, so it's common for it to be diagnosed in women who are at no apparent risk for STDs. The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge, usually colored (yellow, brownish, etc) and often with strong, fishy odor. Other STDs are common in women with trich; get tested.
