Varies: There are multiple potential causes, I would not hesitate to be seen. Among the two more common causes are an irritation of a nerve in your back or an irritation of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve at the pelvis (meralgia parasthetica). A detailed exam will likely show the cause.
