You are Anemic: Low Hemoglobin(Anemia) is often caused by excessive blood loss or poor formation of Red blood cells. You need to see your doctor to get a check up and have tests to find the cause of your anemia. It could be due to excessive menstrual blood loss or some other source of blood loss.

Worrisome: The lowest your hemoglobin should ever be is 12. The 56% is not part of this number and likely refers to some other part of the test. You are either losing blood or not making it as fast as needed. Blood cells last an average of 90-100 days and must be replaced. Most at your age have iron deficiency, but you could have loss in the GI tract/menses/etc.Your genes may also carry a defect.
