Can you have nerve damage that an emg doesn't pick up on?

EMG-NCS: can overlook nerve damage in several ways. First, the condition may not be involving the particular nerves studied. (wrong nerves tested). secondly, as is often the case with autonomic and pure sensory nerve involvement the condition can escape detection because it is in a mild stage or we have no baseline with which to compare it (this is why nerve biopsy is sometimes ordered)
