Need an exam: A number of conditions can cause pain in the left lower abdomen/pelvic area. Ovarian cysts, ruptured ovarian cysts, PID, diverticulitis and constipation are just some of the possible causes. You need to see a gynecologist for a pelvic exam to determine the cause for your pain. Best wishes.
