A member asked:

I had a blood test done called cbc and my platlets were high 499 and it said stable, what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it would have helped to have all the results. High platelet count is often associated with iron deficiency. Please discuss the results with your doctor as the high count may predispose you to blood clots.
