My question is related to menopause symptoms. i know i cannot take hrt due to a history of blood clots-pulmonary embolism- and tia. however, is bhrt safe considering this history?

No!: Estrogen increases risk of blood clots. Having a history of blood clots (TIA, PE), you need to avoid all estrogen-containing products. This includes oral birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that contain estrogen. Bioequivalent hormone replacement therapy (B-HRT) does contain a form of estrogen and therefore is as dangerous for you to take as regular HRT. Avoid all estrogens!
