Yes: Thanks for being conscientious about your child's sun exposure. The goal is to prevent sunburn which has been shown to increase risk of skin cancer.

Sunscreen with an: SPF of 15 is safe, but 30 would be better. It's most important, whatever the number is, that you re-apply the sunscreen; it doesn't last all day and should be re-applied every couple of hours, even if the child has light olive skin.
