IV iron: IV iron does not pass through your GI system so it is least constipating. However, IV iron is only used for very severe iron deficiency anemia that is life-threatening. For mild stable iron deficiency anemia, oral iron supplements are used. Liquid iron may be less constipating than iron pills. Talk with your primary care doctor for more advice.
