A member asked:

Have pelvic pain and nausea. will ct with contrast show ovarian/uterine cancer if present?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CT: CT is an overall good way to image the abdomen and pelvis, but a pelvic ultrasound is more affordable and also does not involve the use of radiation. A biopsy of the endometrium (uterine wall) is done if the ultrasound shows anything suspicious (increased endometrial thickness). A CA-125 test may also help. http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/ca-125-test/basics/definition/prc-20009524
