I got prescription thats loratadine and prednisone how long till it helps my poison ivy and when do i know its healing?

When you see it.: Loratadine would not likely do much but prednisone will. It usually takes 2 days before you would notice the prednisone effect. However unless you have cleaned out all of the potentially contaminated items, you may get the rash again from repeated exposure. Healing will be shown by how well the skin looks and how much less itching you are getting.

You'll know: The prednisone helps with the itching and reduces swelling. The loritadine will likely do nothing. As long as you keep the rash site clean & don't pick, it should be dry & healing well underway in 2 wks.
