Hi, i've been on the implant for 1.7 years, recently i had a period, started a low dose pill due to spotting does the pill counteract the implant?

No: No, not at all. The implant will protect you regardless. The added pill is only there to correct the irregular bleeding. If your goal is to have no menses, then you might be better off trying the Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD.
