Vertigo: Acute positional vertigo, a benign inner ear disorder, may be followed by recurrent feelings of dizziness or unsteadiness, but electric like jolts are unusual. In view of these atypical symptoms, I recommend an evaluation by a neurologist. Appropriate tests will be ordered and if no neurological pathology is noted, referral to an otolaryngologist can be made for treatment for inner ear disorder
