See neurologist: RLS often can be controlled with medications and you need to see a neurologist to get an evaluation. As for protecting your leg & feet, padding bed board and inflatable device to cover your legs and feet may be a possible solution. However it is more effective to get your movement disorder under control .

Recommendation : In case you have muscle cramps you can use calcium tablets daily to help yourself. And use tha moisturizer on the skin to avoid itchiness. If theses approaches are not helpful , go to the doctor to rule out restless leg syndrome
