Time to get checked!: Most nipple problems are benign and due to inflammation. However, depending on your age, medical history and physical exam, this may warrant further workup such as a mammogram or an ultrasound of the area. Additionally, testing the nipple fluid (nipple aspirate) or performing a special procedure called a ductoscopy may be recommended by your physician.
