Extreme burning sensation with rash on face, maybe allergic to petroleum?

Irritant: A contact allergy usually itches but an irritant one (including sunburn) would cause burning. I suspect that you are using something irritating (acne products?) on the face leading to the burning. Allergy to petrolatum is rare.
