"Wet": in the description of Macular Degeneration (WMD) refers to EXUDATE, (a combination of fluid plus white blood cells) and is the more "advanced" type. BOTH lead to vision loss but there are optical ways of helping people with this disorder! Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
