Very difficult ?: and there is no exact answer. Assuming that the scarring is "stable" the length of life is usually determined by the occurrence of OTHER ISSUES (Infection, Heart Failure) thus people can live many years using supplemental Oxygen. Hope this helps and Good Luck Dr Z
