A member asked:

If a child gets paraflu and his caregivers catch it can the child get it again soon after he is getting over it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually not: These viral illnesses generate immunity to the strain involved which accounts for the period of recovery. They don't bounce around like a strep throat (bacterial). If the kid has become sickly after a period of recovery it is most often due to a separate and often bacterial complication like bronchitis or pneumonia.
