Not the only option: Some patients can recovery fairly well with nonoperative treatment with aggressive PT/rehab and a brace. However, there is risk that the meniscus can tear further, lock the knee joint and create continued pain. Also, without the ACL the knee can remain unstable, further increasing risk to the meniscus.
