Perio disease: There are bacteria in our mouths that use food debris to live on in dental plaque and they produce toxins that first irritate the gums and then the bone. If we could eliminate the bacteria in our mouths (which we can't and shouldn't) and we able to keep our teeth 100% clean 100% of the time, there would be no perio disease. To date, that's impossible.
