Infection: This can be folliculitis which is infection of hair follicles. Treatment is oral antibiotics with culture to determine which antibiotic is best to decrease the bacteria. This has a high recurrence rate and vitamin c , antibacterial soap mixed with the shampoo can be helpful in reducing recurrences.
