98 is high normal: A fasting glucose of 99 or less is considered normal. If you are concerned for developing diabetes, my advice is for you to exercise on a daily basis and eat well balanced meals, particularly avoiding too much carbs and simple sugars. This is particularly important if diabetes runs in your family. In the meantime, feel assured you don't have diabetes.
