A member asked:

Is it possible for the mirena (levonorgestrel) iud to come out? i get really sharp pains that hurt like when it was inserted

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: IUD's like Mirena (levonorgestrel) can be displaced or extruded. Digitally, check for the IUD string inside the vagina at the cervix. If you cannot feel the string or you feel a hard object at the cervix, see your GYN MD and get examined ASAP.
