Ankle pain: It's possible that it was still an ankle sprain even though you didn't twist it and there is no swelling. Both of those are hallmarks of an ankle sprain. In view of tingling an irritability of a superficial nerve is a possibility. Rarer cause would be a stress fracture. If symptoms don't resolve with rest, cold applications and anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen, see your MD for testing.
