Uterine Contractions: When your baby bump gets hard and painful, you may be having contractions. If these are frequent you need to go to the hospital and get checked out. Most hospitals have a triage area where you can be evaluated easily without the hassle of an Emergency Department visit. Best wishes!

Maybe, labor: Those may be early contractions (Braxton-Hicks) or the beginnings of actual labor. Please contact your treating OB MD for management of this problem.
