Botox: is indeed a neurotoxin and is in fact LETHAL in accidental ingestion cases (BOTULISM) In much much SMALLER doses it RELAXES muscle and PREVENTS unhealthy muscle SPASM..( Thus it's use in Treatment of facial WRINKLES! Hope this helps Dr Z

Botox: botox is indeed a neurotoxin used to temporarily paralyze muscles of facial expression . It is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure because used properly it is safe, easy, and patients love the results. The word "poison" while technically applicable is a loaded term- many many medications used improperly could certainly be considered poisons.
