A member asked:

When does ringworm stop being contagious? is it when the red spots are gone?. i'm always worried about touching the ringworm and spreading it

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not contagious: Ringworm is not contagious. Topical treatment should work. If over the counter medications for ringworm does not work then you should see a doctor to ascertain if it is something other than ringworm. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
