Instructions : Follow the instructions the doctor or dentist have you. Usually given twice a day or three times a day which is q8 or q 12 but your MD may have special instructions. It is best to clarify the instructions by calling the MDs office. That is the equivalent of 1000 TID so should be okay.

Should be okay..: Amoxicillin is actually usually given every 6 hours (or 4 times daily) not every 4 hours, you may want to check with the prescriber to be sure it was written correctly. If it was written correctly you can just start taking it in the proper manner now. You should have plenty of coverage with the way you've been taking it though, so no concerns there!

Antibiotic: Change to 2 every 4 hours. Take full course of the medication, don't quit early. Antibiotic will control spread of infection but will not cure abscess. For cure you need root canal treatment or extraction.
