I work out a lot, for a week i've had a horrible pinching pain under the middle of my right ribs espec when walking. is this worse than a torn muscle?

Possibly: intercostal neuritis: an inflammation of the nerves between your ribs: you should be examined and get an x-ray. Usually NSAIDS ( Advil/Aleve ) will help as will a rib belt.
