Minor hemorrhage: Occasionally a weak blood vessel on the eye surface will leak and cause a subconjunctival hemorrage. This can spread over a large area and look a little scary. But these are inevitably benign - usually caused by coughing, sneezing or rubbing the eye. They are only of concerned if there is a generalized bleeding disorder with bruising over many parts of your skin (rare).
