I have a boil/abscess under my arm. doc was unable to express anything to test whether it was mrsa, etc. are boils contagious? i'm worried about my kids getting mrsa. can they be tested or should they be treated to prevent them from getting it?

Abscess: you have an axillary abscess that needs to be treated as MRSA.and as the abscess points a drainage may be required Nasopharyngeal culture on you and and family members should be done to identify the carrier state and should recieve treatment and prevention
