Which one: There is a pectus excavatum, the dented in chest or the carinatum where it pokes out.Neither is a problem in infancy. In adolescence some want the cosmetic appearance improved. They insert the equivalent of rebar under the ribs to reposition the chest wall.Major and painful surgery. Many with pectus will see the appearance become less evident as they grow older.
