Not uncommon: The bump is usually where a collection of blood forms between the scalp and bone. This can originate from broken blood vessels or scuffing the skull surface.Over time this will usually fade but the area is not well supplied by blood vessels so it can take months. There is also a possibility a calcium deposit can form at the site, allowing it to persist longer.
