HSV and pink eye: HSV and pink eye are not related. pink eye may be caused by a virus or by a bacteria. HSV is one type of virus, and it can cause reddening of the eye in rare cases. But most cases of pink eye are caused by other, mostly benign viruses such as adenovirus.
