No charcoal 4 kidney: I cannot find any studies to suggest that activated charcoal is helpful for chronic kidney disease. Please discuss any new medications with your doctors. Preferably before you take them. Hope thats helpful.

No proven benefit: Unfortunately quite a few trials have shown that Activated Charcoal does not offer any superior benefit when compared to placebo to halt the progression of CKD. Some studies in the Japanese population showed a possible benefit but this did not translate to the American or European population.
