A member asked:

When a doctor tells you that you need to make an appointment with a breast surgeon does it mean you have cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: When the doctor says, "Go see the breast surgeon," that means to go see the breast surgeon. When the doctor says, "You have cancer. Go see the breast surgeon," that means you have cancer. If the doctor does not say, "You have cancer," you may be going there to get a biopsy to see if a suspicious area in the breast is cancer or not cancer. Hopefully, things will turn out for the better.
