A member asked:

Can the spine of an adult (in their 30s or 40s) still grow longer/taller by several inches that late in life? what would cause that to happen?

Late growth spurt: No, not common at all. If you or someone you know has experienced that, they need to see a doctor. There are cases of adult growth with too much human growth hormone, delayed ossification (hardening of cartilage to bone), and bone overgrowth (pagets disease). In all those cases, a doctor visit is indicated. Hope that helps.
