Centrum semiovale: is white matter of the brain. It is found underneath the grey matter on the surface of the cerebrum. It is synonymous with cerebral white matter. White matter is thought to largely have a communicating and coordinating function. It is composed largely of myelin...fat/lipid laden tissue. It affects how the brain learns and functions, acting as a relay and coordinating communication.
