Abdominal discomfort: If the discomfort was Sharp and fleeting, it could have been trapped intestinal gas which eventually broke down or was passed. Gall bladder disorders can also be a cause of right upper abdominal discomfort and would be strongly considered if symptoms recur especially after eating fried or greasy foods. Consult your physician if symptoms recur and the appropriate tests will be ordered.

Pain: Transient pain can be for multiple reasons. If you have IBS could be some type of cramp or dysbiosis. A tearing or ripping feeling is usually something I hear that is more likely musculoskeletal . A pull where your abdominal meets with your rib cage possible. If no persistent symptoms unlikely something that needs to be worried about.
