It will bet better : As long as it is not your achilles tendon that ruptured you should be ok the treatment for plantaris tendon rupt is mostly benign neglect it will take several weeks for it to get better.

Achilles?: Sounds more like gastrocnemius or achilles issue. Suggest you see a doc. Vicodin will just mask the pain.
