A member asked:

I have a ear infection in only one ear but pressure sometimes goes from that ear to the non infected ear is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Eustachian tube issu: The pressure you likely feel relates to poor function in your Eustachian tubes during this process. The tube drains middle ear mucous and allows air to enter during normal function. To have the infection, tube swelling trapped mucous which became infected from throat germs. Yawning can sometimes help reopen the tube and allow pressure to equalize in the good ear.In time all should heal.
